Ready, Set, Go! Workshops

 
Join us for a Ready, Set, Go! Workshop to prepare your child for school:
  • Parents will be able to tour a Kindergarten room, led by Board staff;
  • Learn more about our before and after school programs;
  • Ask questions and speak to staff providers of child care, before and after school, and community partners (Reach Out Centre for Kids​);
  • Attend a presentation by the Halt​on Region public health department and staff from HCDSB.

    February 5, 2019 – St. Brigid Catholic Elementary School in Georgetown

    February 7, 2019 – St. Andrew Catholic Elementary School in Oakville

    February 20, 2019 – St. Anne Catholic Elementary School in Burlington

    February 21, 2019 – Queen of Heaven Catholic Elementary School in Milton

Kindergarten is an exciting milestone for your child and for you! 

Kindergarten Registration

Advanced Kindergarten registration for children in Year 1 (Junior Kindergarten) or children new to their school in Year 2 (Senior Kindergarten) took place on Tuesday, January 22 & Wednesday, January 23, 2019.

  • Parents must access https://olr.hcdsb.org/Fusion/ and click 'Sign in' to create an account (if this is their first time registering online). Once signed in, parents will need to fill out an online registration form for their child.
  • Once the online registration form is complete, you will receive an email once the information has been reviewed and registration has been successfully validated.
  • Parents are encouraged to set up an appointment at their home school to complete part 2 of the registration process. 

Completed applications and appropriate documentation can be submitted to your home school, beginning at the advanced registration dates in January of the year that your child will be starting the program.

What do I Need to Register my Child?

To complete part 2 of the registration process, parents must bring the following documents to their home school (required):
  • ​Birth Certificate (required for Year 1 and Year 2) 
  • ​Year 1 children are required to be 4 years of age on or before December 31, 2019.
  • Year 2 children are required to be 5 years of age on or before December 31, 2019.​
  • Roman or Eastern Rite Catholic baptismal certificate. If your child has no Roman/Eastern Rite Catholic baptismal ​certificate, your child may be admitted if one parent can provide a Roman/Eastern Rite Catholic baptismal ​certificate. Please refer to the ​Board's Operating Policy I-22 for more information.
  • Proof of address
 
Please note: Children currently registered in their Catholic school’s Year 1 program are not required to register for the Year 2 program. Placement in the Year 2 program will be processed by the school, unless otherwise stated.
